Joyce "Sue" Bush

Joyce "Sue" Bush, 86, of Spottsville passed away November 28, 2024 after a brief time in hospice care.

She was born in Scuffletown Bottoms on October 20,1938 to the late Herbert Chaney and Josie Lacer Chaney.

Sue was born into a large, rural farming family. After marriage, she spent the next 22 years as a military wife, living all across the United States and abroad. Her two children were born during these years. After the mobile military life, Sue and her husband returned to their roots to a farm of their own, which she loved, and she was able to spend valued time with her extended family. Over the years and locations, she had several jobs and retired as a Kitchen Manager from Henderson County Schools where she had great affection for the children she served, many of whom remembered her into their adult lives.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her siblings Ralph Chaney, William "Don" Chaney, Jo Ann Chaney, Herbert "Dale" Chaney, Barbara Merida and Robert "Jackie" Chaney.

Sue is survived by her husband Roy H. Bush, Jr; her daughters Rebecca Wilson (Alan) and Loretta Bush Kessler; two grandchildren Rachel Carothers (Matt) and Michael Wilson (Emily McRae); and three great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her siblings Marlin "Polly" Cobb, Judith Durham, Audie Chaney and Richard Chaney.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. at Baskett Cemetery with Jon Lambert officiating. Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson is in charge of arrangements.
