Kenneth "Lefty" Wright

Kenneth L. “Lefty” Wright, 72 of Henderson passed away April 13, 2014 at St. Anthony’s Lucy Smith King Care Center. He was born March 13, 1942 in McAlpin, WV to Kenneth L. Wright, Sr. and Mittie Lee (Brasher) Wright. Kenneth was the longest standing Commander of the American Legion Post #40 in Henderson, KY. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Squadron #40 of Henderson, President of the Henderson County Sportsman Club, member of the Henderson Masonic Lodge #958, a Kentucky Colonel, member of Henderson Moose Lodge #732, member of the Rizpah Temple in Madisonville, KY since Feb. 1997, where he drove children to the Shriners Hospital for treatment. He had retired from Local #561 Laborers Union. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Kenneth L. Wright III. He is survived by his three children: Lee Conrad and husband Sammy of Bluff City, KY Lynda Moore and husband Malcolm of Henderson, KY Kelly Estes of Henderson, KY 1 sister: Glenda Crump of Owensboro, KY 1 brother: Roger Wright and his wife Sue of Henderson, KY 7 grandchildren: Sam Conrad, Jr., Jeremy Conrad, Daniel Oakley, Jr., Chris Moore, Katy Raley, Lacy Upchurch and Tori Estes. 13 great grandchildren Several nieces and nephews Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday April 16, 2014 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Rev.Mary Wrye will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00 PM-8:00 PM Tuesday and Wednesday 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Masonic services will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Worsham Post #40 Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Sam Conrad, Jr., Jeremy Conrad, Daniel Oakley, Jr., Chris Moore, Curtis Upchurch, Josh Raley, Micky Rhea, Tracy Moss, Katy Raley, Lacy Upchurch and Tori Estes. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The American Legion Worsham Post #40 and St. Anthony’s Hospice.
