L. Thomas Woods

L. Thomas “Tommy” Woods, 93, passed away 2:21 AM Thursday May 26, 2011 at Deaconess Gateway. He was born November 29, 1917, in Slaughters, KY to Laura J. and Agnes (Couch) Woods. He was a member of Sebree United Methodist Church, a Mason, a Kentucky Colonel, an accomplished entrepreneur, philantrophist, farm owner, owned and operated several businesses both in Kentucky and Florida (coal, vending, and insurance), and an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maxine (McCurry) Woods; infant son; daughter, Tommy Ann Rosenzweig. He is survived by 2 daughters; Linda Hazelwood of Sebree and Lisa and husband Randy Nance of Hanson. Son-in-law Lee Rosenzweig of FL 4 sisters; Marjorie Bridwell of Indianapolis, IN, Irene Bailey of Hanson, Clara J. Grubel of FL and Mary Reicken of Evansville. 6 grandchildren; Kevin Hazelwood of Sebree, Shanna Wood of Sebree, Robin McClellan of Nashville, Allison Rosenzweig of CA, Hillary Nance of Bowling Green and Laura Nance of Hanson. 7 great grandchildren Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday May 29 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel. Bro. James Shuck will officiate. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 PM Saturday May 28 and 9:00 AM until service time Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Randy Nance, Randy Mouser, David Wood, Kevin Hazelwood, Lee Rosenzweig and John McClellan.
