Larry Allen Butler, 78 of Henderson passed away March 9, 2021 at Lucy Smith King Care Center surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born in Henderson to the late Lawrence Sheffer and Mary Louise (Gregory) Butler. He was a Pastor for 20 + years at Victory Baptist Church. Larry was active with Christian Community Outreach, teaching classes through the jail ministry, very active with World Changers in Henderson, served as a moderator for the Green Valley Baptist Association and before serving as pastor for Victory Baptist he was the youth minister for Finley Baptist Church. Larry enjoyed fishing and coached girls’ softball. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Douglas Butler. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Mary Marcheta (Felty) Butler; his children Sherian Crafton (Marc) of Spottsville, Brad Butler (Nikki) of Henderson, Sandy Richardson (Keith) of Salvisa Kentucky and Beth Gentry (Chris) of Henderson; his brother David Butler (Kathy) of Henderson; grandchildren Joseph Crafton, Lucas Butler, Kacee Butler, Mason Richardson, Carson Richardson, Macy Gentry, Jack Gentry and Sophie Gentry; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday March 12, 2021 at Haven Pentecostal Church with Dr. Bill Patterson officiating and Allen Butler doing scripture reading. Visitation will be Friday 9:00 AM until service time at church. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Bennie Stone, Jim Stocking, Scott Smith, Darrel Felty, Greg Duckworth and Tim Denton. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Henderson Christian Community Outreach New Building fund or St. Anthony’s Hospice.
