Larry D. Ellison, Sr., 79, of Evansville, IN passed peacefully from this life on the morning of October 4, 2015. He was surrounded and supported by his loving family and caregivers during the last days of his life. Larry is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Willa Dean (Hope) Ellison; his children, Kimberly Wang of Evansville, IN and Larry Ellison, Jr. (Theresa) of Urbandale, IA; four grandchildren, Lana Feltner (Brian), Beth Wang, Luke Wang, and Evangelina Ellison; two great-grandchildren, Adam Feltner, Heidi Feltner; and a host of extended family and friends. Larry was born on February 23, 1936 in Mount Vernon, IN to the late Truman and Olyn (Williams) Ellison. He married his sweetheart, Willa Dean, in 1956. Over the next several years, they welcomed their daughter, Kim, and son, Larry Jr., into the family. Larry’s family will remember him as a solid, loving, and loyal husband and father. Larry was a devout Christian, and devoted a good part of his career working as the Audio Director at the church he attended in Des Moines, IA. Upon retiring, he moved back to Evansville, IN where he lived for the remainder of his life. Larry will be dearly missed by his family and his many friends. Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Pastor Ray Brown of The Gathering Church will officiate. Burial will be at Sassafras Grove Cemetery in Sebree, KY. Visitation will be Tuesday 5:30-8:00 and on Wednesday 10:00 a.m. until service time. The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice at St. Mary’s for their care and dedication during Larry’s final days.
