Larry Lee Gettings

Larry Lee Gettings 79, of Evansville, IN, formally Henderson, KY, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023 at his home.

Larry was born on August 24, 1943 to Clarence and Lahoma Gettings.

Larry worked at Deaconess Hospital for 37 years as a Biomedical Technician and Supervisor. He loved fishing, camping, and bowling. He was loved by everyone who knew him, he never met a stranger, and you always knew when he came into a room with his boisterous voice and his infectious laugh.

Larry served his country honorably in the United States Air Force as a Sergeant in Communications from 1964-1968. Larry was very proud to have served in the armed forces. He was honored to be able to participate in the 2022 Honor Flight.

He was preceded by death by his parents, Clarence and Lahoma Gettings.

He will be remembered by his loving wife of 54 years, Renee Gettings (Tapp) of Evansville; children, Shannon Cruz (Richard) and Eric Shane (Rebecca); grandchildren, Jade Boring, Trinidy Boring, and Eivin Gettings; brother, Harry Gettings (Dixie); stepsiblings, David Crafton (Sue Gail), Peggy Wood, Mike Crafton (Ellen), and Carole Musgrave (Ernie).

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 9 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson, KY.

Burial service will immediately follow at the Fairmont Cemetery.

Visitation at the funeral home is scheduled for Thursday, June 8 from 1-6 p.m., and Friday, June 9 from 11-1 p.m.
