Larry "Peewee" Smithhart

Larry “Peewee” Smithhart , 75, of Reed passed away at Deaconess Gateway and went to join his wife of 54 years on October 27, 2018. He was born in Reed, Kentucky on April 12, 1943 to the late Carl A. and Linda (Brewer) Smithhart. Larry was a retired Laborer for Local 561 and an operator for local 181.  He was a member of the Teamsters and Klassic Kruisers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Wilma Louise Smithhart on September 14, 2018, 1 granddaughter Marcie Winstead, 1 sister Ann Varble and 1 brother Melvin Smithhart. Survivors include 3 sons: Tim Jerger and wife Charlotte of Henderson, Rick Smithhart and wife Leann of Chandler, Indiana, Chris Smithhart and wife Angel of Henderson, 2 brothers Maurice Smithhart and wife Fern of Cairo, KY, Jeff Smithhart and wife Donna of Reed, 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson.  Rev. J.W. Haire will officiate.  Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Evansville. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-7PM, Wednesday 2-7 and Thursday 10AM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Tim Jerger, Rick Smithhart, Chris Smithhart, Leann Smithhart, Butch Pfingston and Gary Carmichael.  Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Jerger, Alex Jerger and Marcus Mayes. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
