Larry “Mike” Wells, 75 of Sebree passed away Wednesday April 16, 2025 at his home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.
He was born in Orlando, Florida on April 5, 1950 to the late Carl Coran and Wilma Dean (Ward) Wells.
Mike was a highly decorated U.S. Marine and Vietnam War veteran, where he honorably served as a sniper. Following his military service, he dedicated his life to law enforcement, serving with distinction in multiple roles — including with the Mammoth Cave National Park, Henderson City Police, Audubon State Park, Sebree City Police, and ultimately retiring as a Deputy with the Webster County Sheriff’s Department.
A member of Onton United Methodist Church and the Scout Sniper Association, Mike continued to live a life of purpose and passion. He was an avid outdoorsman and skilled hunter, even taking part in African safari hunts. His love for animals was evident in his deep compassion for all creatures, finding great fulfillment in rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife.
Survivors include his wife Valorie Wells; two children Mary Alice Stockton of Bowling Green, Bobby Wells (Christina) of Charlotte, NC; one step-son Jeffrey “Rowdy” Siewers (Joyce) of Henderson; one brother Richard Wells of Owensboro; eight grandchildren Michael, Sophie and Isabell Stockton; Anna, Joey, Evie, Mollie and Sarah Wells; three step-grandchildren Xander, Carter and A.J. Siewers and his two beloved dogs Banjo and Roo-B.
Services will be 1:00 PM Friday April 18, 2025 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel.
Burial will follow on his homestead with military rites conducted by the American Legion Worsham Post 40 Honor Guard.
Visitation will be Friday 10 AM until service time at the funeral home.
