Lena "Granny Jo" Embry

Lena Joyce Embry “Granny Jo”, 79, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Lucy Smith King Care Center.

Born on March 14, 1945, in Henderson, Kentucky, to the late Ruben and Flora (Richmond) Majors, Lena led a life full of love, family, and dedication. She retired as a utility operator from Big Rivers Electric and enjoyed a well-earned retirement pursuing her passions.

Lena had a knack for crafts, a love for fishing, and a fondness for riding around on her lawn mower. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her beloved family, who brought her immense joy.

In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by her children, Rhonda Stone, Lisa Lewis, and Alenda Tucker; her brothers, Earl Majors, Donnie Majors, Kenny Majors and Greg Majors; her sister, Ruby Cornell; and her great-grandson, Seth Wyatt Fulkerson.

Lena’s memory lives on through her daughters, Robin Carter and Cathy O’Nan; her loyal fur baby, Tucker; her sister, Karen Majors; her brother, Dennis Majors; nine grandchildren; one cherished grand dog, Baby Girl; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-grand dog, Nebi.

In honor of Lena’s life, a private celebration will be held at a later date.

The family extends their gratitude to all who have offered love and support during this time. Lena will be dearly missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
