Leonard Leslie “Les” Murdach passed away Sunday, April 5th at St. Anthony’s Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson, Kentucky.
He was born on October 7, 1932, in Enfield, Illinois, to Thomas and Mildred Murdach. Prior to retirement, he was a dedicated mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Carmi, Illinois, and Henderson, KY for 38 years. He was also a Navy veteran, serving as a radioman on a cruiser from 1952-1956.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Barbara, 4 sisters, Bernita McHale, Phyllis Hawkins, Doris Kemp, Buehlah Phillips, and 1 brother, Hubert Murdach.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Lesle Pietraniec (Ed) of Evansville, 1 son, Greg (Denise) of Henderson, and 1 sister, Edna Porter of Louisville, KY. Grandchildren: Nathan Courtney (Michelle), Tim Pietraniec (Kelly), Andy Pietraniec (Maddie), Zac Murdach, Nick Murdach, and Jake Murdach (Emma). Great-grandchildren Scarlett Courtney, Addie Pietraniec, Reagan Lamble, and Grace Courtney
Burial will be at a later date at Bruce Chapel Cemetery in Enfield, Illinois.
Contributions may be made to the St. Anthony’s Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center in Henderson.
