Leroy McCully of Benton passed away November 7, 2010 at the age of 85. Leroy was born Feb. 24, 1925 to Nona Marks McCully and Sloan McCully in Webster County, Kentucky. Leroy was a decorated WWII Navy veteran serving aboard the U.S.S. Memphis and the U.S.S. Sarita. After leaving the service, he earned an engineering degree from the University of Evansville and retired as vice president of Dynalectric Corporation in Owensboro. Leroy was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Benton, the Rizpah Shriners and Jesters of Madisonville and was a Kentucky Colonel. He formerly owned and operated Webco TV and Electric in Providence, Sebree, and Clay. Leroy was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Ruth Small McCully and a son, Randall Leroy McCully. He is survived by a son, Larry McCully and wife Janice; and a daughter, Marlane McCully Floyd and husband Bentley. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Troy McCully, Jason Floyd, Amber Floyd Lee, Jason Glover and Christine McCully; and ten great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, November 11, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Sebree. The funeral will be held at noon Thursday with burial immediately following at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery
