Lilburn Ray Baize, affectionately known as "Papaw," peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, on the Harbor Unit at Redbanks Skilled Nursing Home under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice in Henderson, Kentucky, at the age of 79. He was born on May 1, 1946, in Henderson to the late Gilbert and Ethel Baize. Lilburn lived a life rich in love for his family, passion for carpentry, and a profound joy for fishing, spending countless hours outdoors in the tranquility of nature.
In addition to his parents, Lilburn was preceded in death by his two beloved sons, Timothy Ray Baize and L. Dewayne Baize, as well as his siblings: Truman Swearer, Wilbert Swearer, Juanita Caton, Christine Kieser, and Jean Sinclair.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Pamela Baize; his cherished children, Amelia Dawn Baize, Kimberly Annette McGovern (David), and Chad Edward Baize (Jeanetta); his sister, Valerie Lickens; along with 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren who will carry on his legacy of warmth and kindness.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel, where Chaplain Tim Shockley will officiate the ceremony. Those wishing to pay their respects will have the opportunity to visit with the family from 10:00 AM until service time.
