Lillie Joan Ferguson, 85, of Henderson, went home to be with Jesus Thursday, November 3, 2022 at home.
She was born in Corydon on May 22, 1937 to the late Earl and Ruby (Shelton) Duncan.
She had worked hard all her life, including being an Avon saleswoman, waitress, and caregiver to Alzheimer patients. She loved her family dearly. Lillie was a forgiving person and a loving Christian, always seeing the goodness in others. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards and Bingo, cooking, and helping others.
In addition to her parents, Lillie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Ferguson; son, Dennis Whitledge; grandson, Joshua Whitledge; great granddaughter, Lilliana Hughes; sister, Debra Staples; brother, Jerry Duncan; and son in law, Richard “Dickie” Cox.
She is survived by her six children, Karen Cox of Henderson, Sheila Ruby (Kim) of Evansville, Buzz Frederick (Linda) of Henderson, Earl Wayne Frederick (Karen) of Corydon, Mary Ann Bridwell (Mike) of Corydon, and Janice Burke (Rodney) of Henderson; siblings, Linda Markham (George) of Henderson and Ronnie Duncan of Evansville; sister in law, Wanda Duncan; 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 34 great-great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Anthony’s Hospice and her two caregivers, Heather Todd and Linda Floyd.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 8 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Pastor Jack Ross officiating.
Burial will follow in Corydon Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday, November 7 from 3 – 7 p.m. and on Tuesday, November 8 from 9 a.m. until service time.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Whitledge, Joe Whitledge, Blake Frederick, Cole Frederick, Travis Frederick, and Garret Burke.
