Linda Jean (Shipley) Powell

Linda Jean (Shipley) Powell, 54, of Henderson passed away on December 13, 2016 at Methodist Hospital. She was born on April 12, 1962 to the late William and Donna (Dawson) Shipley. She was a certified medical assistant, a member of Porter Memorial Methodist Church in Nicholasville, KY. Linda grew up in Lexington, KY and graduated from Tates Creek High School in 1980. She worked as a CNA for Home Instead as a personal caregiver and loved caring for older people and formerly worked at several local OBGYN offices. Linda was an animal lover, avid UK fan, and enjoyed the outdoors especially the beach. She is survived by her husband Stacey Powell, very special Aunt and Uncle Jerry and Shirley Dawson of Lexington, KY, one brother David Shipley of Tulsa, OK, two sisters: Jodie Owens of Mansfield, TX, and Susie Dodge of Mt. Home, ID, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Scott and Patricia Powell of Lake Worth, FL and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday December 17, 2016 at 6:00PM at Tomblinson Funeral Home with Pastor Vernon Timberlake officiating. Visitation will be 4:00-service time at the funeral home.
