Lois Ashby

Lois McClarney Ashby, 86, Corydon, Kentucky, passed away at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. She was born in Corydon, KY on July 22, 1929 to the late Allen Octa Lena Dixon McClarney. Lois was proceeded in death by her husband, Robert Curtis Ashby, her sister Mary McClarney Bowling and her brother, Allen Dixon McClarney. Lois is survived by one son, Robert Allen Ashby of Sykesville, MD, one daughter, Mary Ashby Brown her husband, Robert Allen Brown of Lexington, KY; five grandchildren, James Curtis Brown, Mitchell Douglas Brown, Seth Ashby Brown all of Lexington, KY; Eric Allen McClarney Ashby, Samantha Lynn Ashby and their mother, Stephanie D Avella Ashby, all of Sykesville, MD; one sister, Frances McClarney Watson of Corydon, KY and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Lois was a member of the Poole church of Christ for 71 years. She loved the Lord and served him faithfully. She was a member of the General Samuel Hopkins Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, reading and UK Basketball. Services will be at 1:00 pm on Monday at Tomblinson Funeral Home, Sebree, KY. Brother Rob Whitacre will officiate. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Sebree, KY. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday and after 12:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Allen Ashby, Robert Brown, Curt Brown, Mitchell Brown, Seth Brown and Eric Ashby Honorary pallbearers will be Samantha Ashby, Don Bowling and Gene McClarney.
