Lois Ann Emery

Lois Ann (Vaught) Emery, 84, of Robards, KY, was taken home by our Lord Sunday, May 17, 2020 at her residence. She was born October 31, 1935 in Henderson County to the late Hulbert “Hub” and Lorene Jewell Vaught.  She was a seamstress, cook (famous for her dumplings) and member of Home Makers.  She loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and was an avid Kentucky Wildcat fan.  A lady of great Southern Baptist faith, she raised her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to hold her high moral standards.  Her love of family and friends was beyond measure.  She saw only the good in every person in her life without judging and was truly the glue that held our family together. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Emery; two brothers,  Edward “Jerry” Vaught of Clarksville, IN and Thomas Vaught of Henderson; two grandchildren, Kara Fruit Scott and Steven “Kory” Fruit, both of Henderson. Lois is survived by two daughters, Linda Emery Fruit and Anna L. Emery of Robards, KY; one granddaughter, Shanna Fruit of Henderson; four great grandchildren, Jake Lowery, Seth Scott, Shayla and Makayla Rose; one brother, Robert “Bob” and Janet Vaught of Havre de Grace, MD; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; two sister-in-laws, Sara Staser Vaught, Imogene Emery Jordan (Louard) and beloved former son-in-law, Steve Fruit. Services will be private with burial in Fairmont Cemetery with Bro. Rick O’Daniel officiating. Pallbearers will be Jake Lowery, Seth Scott, Mark Scott, Eddie Vaught, Hal McCormick and Tim Rye. Tomblinson Funeral Home, Henderson Chapel is entrusted with arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
