Lois L. Loper

Lois L. (Gibson) Loper was born on January 12, 1921, the only child of Bernie and Lillie (Walker) Gibson. She graduated from Sebree High School in 1939 and attended Lockyear Business College in Evansville, Indiana. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for most of her professional life. She loved animals and was especially fond of cats. An avid reader, Lois frequented the bookmobile in search of new mystery novels and enjoyed working crossword puzzles. A dry sense of humor, determination and an acerbic tongue tempered by a kind heart characterized Lois. She endeared herself to many people and will be greatly missed. She is survived by two daughters: Rebecca Embry of Madisonville and Debra Anfield. Two grandchildren: Bryce Melton of Slaughters and McGregor Guenther of Clarksville, TN and one great grandchild: Adron Brynn Melton. Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday December 27, 2014 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel with Mike Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 PM Friday December 26, 2014 and 10:00 AM- 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contribution may be made to the Humane Society of the United States (ASPCA).
