Loreen Ruth Glunt, 100, of Henderson passed away Wednesday August 12, 2015 at Redbanks Nursing Home. She was born in Rockford, Illinois on September 10, 1914 to Benjamin Sylvester and Vella Dean (Sheffer) Glunt. She was a bookkeeper for Puryear Tax and Accounting Service for many years and had retired from Benton-Glunt Funeral Home as a bookkeeper for her brother Maynard Glunt. Loreen was also a member of the First Church of Nazarene where she was active as a pianist and organist. She also taught Sunday School and was a bookkeeper at the church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 sister Maxine Myrtle Vaughn, 5 brothers Marvin Don, Mavis Kyle, Myron Neel, Maynard Vaughn and Milton Benjamin and 3 nieces Survivors include 10 nieces and 6 nephews and many great nieces and nephews Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday August 15, 2015 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Rev. Keith Griffin will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 4-8PM and Saturday 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice. Pallbearers will be Kirt Jackson, David Whitesides, Keene Jackson, Matthew Beard, Kent Jackson, Nathan Beard, John Beard, Stuary Mays, Lee Allen Glunt and Darren Whitesides. Honorary pallbearer will be Daniel Whitesides.
