Lorene Powell

Lorene (Williams) Powell, 90, of Henderson, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Redbanks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. She was born in Muhlenberg County on July 31, 1931 to the late John B. and Melvina (Harderson) Williams. Lorene was a homemaker and member of Airline Baptist Church who enjoyed gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Vernell McPherson and Modell Bullard; and brothers, Oscar Williams, Benny Williams, Paul Williams, and Ernest Williams. She is survived by her husband, Ellis Powell Jr.; children, Gary Powell of Henderson and stepson, Raymond Powell (Linda) of Evansville; sister, Virtie Stone of Henderson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2022 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Brother Nathan Whisnant officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home, 10 a.m. -12 p.m., Monday, February 14. Pallbearers will be Gary Powell, Timmy Stone, Howard McPherson, Rick Walker, Raymond Powell, and Chris Popp.
