Loretta Higgs

Loretta (Williams) Higgs, 90, of Henderson passed away Tuesday May 14, 2013 at Redbanks Nursing Home in Henderson. Loretta was one of the Rosie Riveters during World War II working on the planes. She was born July 21, 1922 in Henderson to the late Howard Alvin and Nannie Gertrude (Cecil) Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George Thomas Higgs and her son Claude Richard Higgs. She is survived by 6 children: Elsie (Trudy) Allen of Robards, Charles Thomas Higgs of Illinois, Becky Davis of Henderson, Ruth Clement of Corydon, Gladys Hansen of Henderson, Esther Morris of Owensboro. 23 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 3 great- great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 2:00 PM Friday May 17 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery in Poole, KY. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thursday May 16, 2013 and 10 AM-2 PM Friday May 17, 2013 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandsons
