Louis Bennett Hatchett, 89 of Henderson passed away Monday February 2, 2015 at Western KY Veterans Center in Hanson. He was born January 29, 1926 in Henderson to Hart and Lucy (Jennings) Hatchett. Louis was a member of First United Methodist Church and WW II Navy veteran. He was the owner of Dairy Queen for 40 years. He was also the owner of Ashland/Ohio Valley Oil Company for 19 years. He was a cattle and grain farmer, a charter member of the Henderson Co. Lions Club, a member of the Elks and a Kentucky Colonel. He served on the Henderson Municipal Power & Light board for 18 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister Martha Williams, 2 brothers Hart Hatchett, Jr. and Robert K. Hatchett. He is survived by his wife Wilma (Dempewolf) Hatchett of 63 years 3 children: Louis Hatchett, Jr. David C. Hatchett and his wife Lisa Frances Ellen Hatchett all of Henderson 2 grandchildren: Lauren Elizabeth Hatchett of Louisville Austin Bennett Hatchett of Bowling Green Brother in law Carl C. Dempewolf of Henderson Several nieces and nephews Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 4, at Fairmont Cemetery. Dr. James Wofford will officiate. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to First United Methodist Church Building Fund or Salvation Army. Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel is handling the arrangements.
