Louis Tirre (Lou) Sneddon, 89, Robards, died Sunday, May 24, 2015, at home surrounded by his family. He attended Robards Methodist Church. Lou was a great friend to many and was the patriarch of his large family. He was a wonderful father to his children showing them the adventures of life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Lou never complained or criticized anyone. He was an honorable man and never met a stranger. People were attracted to him because of his loving disposition and positive outlook on life. Lou was born on October 19, 1925 in Kemmerer, Wyoming. Lou married his first wife, Lois Davis, in 1948. That marriage resulted in the birth of six children: Kathleen Hall, Julie Todd, Mary Sneddon, Jennifer McCall, William (Bill) Sneddon and Tonia Simanton. Lou later married, in 1977, Betty June Griffin the love of his life and wife of 38 years. In that marriage he gained two sons, Ronnie Ashby and Milton Ashby. After graduating from high school at Anaconda High, Lou volunteered to join the Army Air Corp where he was a decorated Flying Tiger in WW II. Lou was given a rare (1 of 6) accommodation by the Navy for his sinking so many enemy ships with his B-24 with both low and high level radar. Lou was on assignment when he saw the second atomic bomb go off in Nagasaki. After the war he attended Montana State University, he was a running back on their football team. He went back to the MSU with his family, and graduated and then went to work at Hanford Washington. Then the family moved to Bonner, Mt where he worked as an Production Manger for the Anaconda Company. In 1974 he moved to Henderson County to work at with his brother at the aluminum plant. In 1979 Lou was offered a job in Ireland as a construction engineer to build a new plant. Lou and June traveled to many places while they were in Ireland and meet their dear friends Noel and Mary Downey. June and Lou return to Robards to their farm home surrounded by family and friends. In 2010 Lou, Tommy Jo Friday, son Bill and brother Gerald went to China where he was honored by the Chinese. It was a trip of a lifetime. Survivors include his wife June Griffin Sneddon, Kathleen Hall of Missoula, MT, Julie Todd (Terry) of Twin Bridges, MT, Mary Sneddon, Missoula, MT, Jennifer McCall (Earl), of Missoula, MT; William (Bill), (Barbara) Sneddon, of Richmond VA; Tonia Simanton (Todd), of Seattle, WA. Ronnie Ashby (Trish), of Mount Vernon and Milton Ashby Florida, One Brother, Gerald Lee Sneddon of Boise, 38 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Lou was preceded in death by his parents,Victorine (Tirre) and William P Sneddon, 1st wife Lois Sneddon his brother, Robert Allen (Bob) Sneddon and an infant brother, William Bruce Sneddon. Elaine Cantrell, his aunt Additional family members Bert Griffin, Bill Griffin, Benard Busby and Norris and Ruby King. A viewing at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel for family and friends will be held in Sebree at 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27 and on Thursday 12 until service time. Funeral Service will be 2 p.m. in Sebree at Tomblinson Funeral Home Thursday, May 28. Rev. Rick Nollmann will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Military rights will be conducted by American Legion Worsham Post 40 Pallbearers will be George Warren, TJ Friday, Ronnie Ashby, Noel Downey, Ozzie Onan, and Andy Jackson.
