Lucas Alexander Weikel Walker, born December 14, 1999 in Henderson, Kentucky, passed away on July 12, 2026. Lucas's presence was a source of warmth and positivity for all who were fortunate to know him and his memory will be cherished by his family and many friends.
Lucas grew up in Kentucky and worked in the construction field, more specifically in concrete. Outside of his profession, Lucas found true joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing, enjoying the peace and satisfaction it brought him. His love of the outdoors was matched only by his affection for his loyal dog, Max, who was his steadfast companion through many adventures. Equally important to Lucas was his faith; as a devoted member of Sassafras Grove Church, he participated actively in church life, finding community and purpose.
Lucas is survived by a loving family who will hold his memory close. He leaves behind his mother, Valerie Knight; step-father, Stephen Weikel; step-mother, Melissa Walker; grandfather, Gregory S. Knight; grandmothers, Kristi Brooks and Beretta Gross; sisters, Abigail Nunn and Carmen Howard; and brothers, Dawson Campbell, Johnathan Walker, and James Walker along with many cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jeremy Walker, as well as his grandfather, William Short.
Family and friends are invited to remember and celebrate Lucas's life at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel. Visitation will be held on July 17, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This will be followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM with burial to follow in Springdale Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dawson Campbell, Johnathan Walker, Garland Wilson, Connor McLure, Mason McLure and Preston Langston. Honorary pallbearer will be James Walker.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contribution to Teen Challenge, an organization that was very dear to Lucas.
