Lucille Burns, 83, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2026, at Redbanks Nursing Home, where she received compassionate care from St. Anthony's Hospice. Lucille was born on January 25, 1943, in Henderson, to the late Robert L. and Rosabelle Pirtle.
A vibrant soul, Lucille cherished the joy of square dancing and found solace within the community of Bellfield Baptist Church, where her spirit thrived among friends and family. For many years, she served as a devoted clerk at 76 Truck Stop & Pantry Gas Station and Thornton's Gas Station always greeting patrons with her warm smile.
In addition to her parents, Lucille is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Burns; beloved siblings: James William Pirtle, Daniel Pirtle, Louise Greenwell, Mary Floyd, and Melba Jean Helmick. She is survived by her brother, Raymond Pirtle of Robards, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Kasey Pirtle (Tristian), Kevin Biggers (Shaina) and Natalie Alvey (D.J.); caregivers Nathan and Kim Pirtle; as well as several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews whose lives she touched.
In honoring Lucille's memory, her family will conduct funeral services on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Bro. John Keys will officiate the service, celebrating Lucille's life and the countless blessings she brought into the lives of others. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery.
