On July 10th, 2014, Surrounded by her family, Mabel Ilyene Ottens, (82), of Sebree, Ky., continued her walk with Jesus. She enjoyed a career of 33 years at the Sebree Deposit Bank where she was the assistant Vice President. She was a long time member of the Sebree United Methodist Church where she faithfully served the Lord by teaching children’s Sunday school, leading the United Methodist Youth Fellowship, and dedicating herself to the United Methodist Women’s Group. Mabel was always a joyful mother. Throughout the years she served her community and her children and their respective schools by volunteering as the President of the Sebree Elementary Parent Teacher Association and Webster County Band Boosters. She also held offices and was a member of Eastern Star for many years. An avid seamstress, Mabel brought joy to so many through her magical “Barbie Doll” wardrobes. For decades she donated her one-of-a-kind creations to a variety of fund raisers, and she loved displaying her miniature masterpieces every year at the 4-H Craft Fair in Evansville, IN. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John W. Ottens; her parents, Alvey and Helen Cary; her sisters, Gertie Stephens and Ruth Harth; and one brother, Herbert Cary. She is survived by her daughter, Linda McInerney and husband, Gary; daughter, Pam Urban; daughter, Cathy Dunville; daughter, Susan Gaidica and husband, Chuck; daughter, Sharon Ray and husband, Barry; grandson, Brennan Dunville and wife, Shelby; grandson, Charlie Gaidica and wife, Chantel; grandsons, Matt Gaidica and Spencer Ray; granddaughters, Tiffany Gaidica, Kelsey Gaidica, Riley Gaidica, and Darby Ray; step grandson, Ryan McInerney and wife, Angie; step grandsons, Patrick McInerney and Kevin McInerney; step granddaughter, Whitney Scott and husband, John; step granddaughters, Emily Ray and Molly McInerney; great grandsons, Liam Dunville, Adam Zielke and Lochlan Dunville; step great grandsons, Egan McInerney, Quinn McInerney and Wyatt Scott; step great granddaughter, Sloan McInerney; sister, Mary Lou Johnson and husband, Edwin; and nieces and nephews. Friends and loved ones may pay their respects at Tomblinson Funeral home Sebree chapel, on Saturday, July 12th, 2014 from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM and Sunday, July 13th, 2014 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM. Service to immediately follow at the Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sebree United Methodist Church and St. Anthony’s Hospice of Henderson, Ky.
