Mae Sella Klabis

Mae Sella (Ashby) Klabis, 96 of Macomb, MI and formerly of Hanson, KY passed away Friday October 27, 2023 at her home.

She was born in Hopkins County, KY on June 17, 1927 to the late Joe Hayden and Ruby Mae (Prather) Ashby.

Mae was foremost a Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was a member of the Hanson United Methodist Church. She was an avid quilter, winning many ribbons at the local fairs, and was a longtime member of the Happy Hearts and Hands Quilting Group in Hanson Kentucky and the Piece Makers Quilt Club of Hopkins County, Kentucky. Mae also was a member of the Happy Homemakers Club in Hanson. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, shopping and reading. She remained active with social events & clubs. Her goal was to live to 100 years old, she almost made it.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Klabis (2012), Brothers Charles (Janice) Ashby, Donald (Helen) Ashby and Earl Ashby.

Mae is survived by a daughter; Detta (Brandon) Oliver of Shelby Township, MI, son; Kenneth L. (Jeri) Klabis of Prescott, MI. 4 Grandchildren; Jamie (Denise) Oliver, Jeremiah (Brandi) Klabis, Jenifer Klabis and Robert (Jen) Klabis. 4 Great grandchildren; Allison and Jacob Oliver, Jonathon Klabis and Abigail Klabis. Sister in law; Betty Ashby of Hanson, KY.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday November 2, 2023 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel in Sebree, KY.

Pastor Tami Coleman will officiate.

Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery in Hanson, KY.

Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
