Margaret Wilma Edwards

Margaret "Granny Cotton" Green Edwards, 94, went home to be with her Lord on April 30, 2011 at Lucy King Care Center. She was born September 25, 1916 in Spottsville, KY to Adoniram and Carrie (McCarty) Green Margaret was an active member and choir member of Immanuel Baptist Temple for many years and a founding and active member of Community Baptist Church. She loved traveling having visited many states and countries. She was a 20 year employee of Henderson-Union RECC, retiring in 1975. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Wyatt Smith Edwards; parents, Adoniram and Carrie McCarty Green; grandson. Joseph Patrick Knox; brothers, Leroy and James A. Green; sisters, Louise Haynes, Mary E. Koebrick, Frances Ferguson and Norma Shetterly. She is survived by three children, Janis Knox (Owen), Florissant, CO; James W. Edwards (Imogene), Plano, TX; Patrick Edwards (Nancy), Henderson; sister, Sarah Carter, Henderson; brother, Harold Green, Stone Mountain, GA; grandchildren: Paul Knox, Margaret Kulungowski (Mark); Randal Edwards (Leah); Jamye Ferguson (Lee); Mary Williams (Joseph): Thomas Knox (Eleanor); Patricia Meagher (John): Todd Edwards (Amy); Allison Travis (Michael); Geoffrey Edwards; Sharon Whitledge (Colby); Kathleen Rembold (Ryan); 23 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Margaret will be greatly missed by her loving family and her many friends. The funeral will be Thursday, May 5, 2011, at 11A.M. at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Visitation: 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. Wednesday, May 4, 2011 and 9 A.M. to 11 A.M. Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Interment will follow the funeral in Fairmont Cemetery.
