Marguerite Newman

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marguerite Victoria Newman, affectionately known as Vicki, on October 8, 2025. Born on December 28, 1953, in Evansville, Indiana, she lived a beautiful life filled with love, warmth, and cherished moments. Vicki made her home in Spottsville, Kentucky, where she touched the lives of many.

Vicki was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Richard Newman, with whom she shared a remarkable 55 years of marriage. Together, they built a family enriched with love and connection. Vicki is survived by her three children: Darrel Newman (Laura), Stephanie McElfresh (Michael), and Brian Newman (Christina). Her legacy continues through her seven wonderful grandchildren and nine adoring great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Vicki had a passion for life that shone through in the many things she loved. She attended St. Augustine Catholic Church and found joy in crocheting, cooking, and indulging in her favorite shows on the Sci-Fi Channel. Her family and friends will cherish her memory for the laughter and kindness she shared so generously.

In addition to her immediate family, Vicki is survived by her brother, Robert Joiner, and brothers-in-law Tony Newman and Butch Newman (Linda). She was preceded in death by her siblings Starr Mundorff and Stephen Joyner and her parents Thomas and Gloria (Pryor) Joiner.

A memorial service to celebrate Vicki's life will be held on October 13, 2025, at Tomblinson Funeral Home, beginning at 12:00 p.m with Father Will Thompson officiating . Prior to the memorial service, visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at a later date at St. Augustine, honoring her faith and the community she held dear.

As we gather to honor Vicki's life, let us remember her loving spirit and the countless ways she enriched our lives. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
