Marjorie Peggy Jean Hedrick, 90 years of age, entered into her heavenly home surrounded by her family on July 8, 2016 at the St. Anthonys Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center. She was born March 26, 1926, to Laurence and Effie Ball in Tacoma, Washington. She attended grade school and freshman year in Wenatchee, Washington. The family then moved to Puyallup, Washington where she graduated from high school in 1945. She attended beauty school and became a licensed beautician. She married the love of her life, Bernell Hedrick on November 29, 1947. They lived in Milton, Washington and had 3 sons while living there. In 1955, the family then moved to Columbia Falls, Montana and resided there until moving to Henderson, Kentucky in 1973 with the Anaconda Aluminum Company. The last two years of her life she resided with her grandchildren, Kent and Tara Jackson until May of this year in which she became a resident of Redbanks Colonial Terrace Nursing Home in Sebree, KY. Peggy especially enjoyed being a den mother of the Cub Scouts while her sons were growing up. In addition, she was an avid reader, gardener, a fantastic cook, and loved the outdoors and her Kentucky Wildcats. Throughout her life, she reflected Christs love by her humble disposition and by serving all she came in contact with whether it be her family, friends, neighbors or complete strangers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Laurence and Effie Ball; her husband of 52 years, Bernell Hedrick; her sisters, Virginia Stobb and Laurie Cupp; her brothers James, William, and Robert Ball all from Washington. Survivors include her three sons: Bernell Jr (Debbie) Hedrick of Billings, MT, Charles (Patty) Hedrick of Fayetteville, NC, and Chris (Verna) Hedrick of Sebree, KY; two stepsons, Jim (Edna) Hedrick of Ironton, MO and Bill (Rosemary) Hedrick of Van Buren, MO. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Services will be 10:00 AM Monday July 11, 2016 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson. Bro. Jeff Burke will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Henderson. Visitation will be Sunday 2-6PM and Monday 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hedrick, Lonnie Hedrick, Jason Hedrick, Josh Hedrick, Kent Jackson and Tara Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Hedrick, Chris Hedrick, Matt Hedrick, Bobby Graham, Brenda Hedrick, Billie Jean Long, Candy Letterman, Katie Wolverton, Heather Meyer and Ruthie Followell. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthonys Hospice Lucy Smith King Care Center.
