Martha Jean Hope

Martha Jean Mackey Hope, age 88, of Sarasota, Florida, formerly of Henderson, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, March 5, 2017 in Sarasota, Florida. She was born on October 12th, 1928 in Beech Grove, Ky. She moved with her family as a young girl to the family farm in Geneva Ky. She was an avid reader, loved to travel, sew, and work in her garden, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her family and her beloved husband Al(Jr). She was retired from WEHT and Firestone/Accuride. She also was formerly employed by The Hosiery Mill and Tri-State Plastics. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Sarasota, Florida and previously a longtime member of Finley Baptist Church in Henderson, Ky. She was preceded in death by her parents, John S. and Bernice J. Mackey; and one brother, Allen Ray Mackey. Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Albert(Jr) Ray Hope of Sarasota, Florida; three children, Margaret(Peggy) Lee Fulkerson and husband Michael Alan Fulkerson of Fernandina Beach, Florida, Timothy Allen Hope and wife Joy Ann Powell Hope of Granbury, Texas, and Laura Shaphard and Robert Shapard of Dallas Texas; one brother Ronnie Mackey and wife Linda Mackey of Longmont, Colorado; one sister-in-law Carolyn Mackey of Waverly, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be Saturday, March 11th, from 4-8pm, and on Sunday, March 12th from 12-2pm at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson, Ky. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, March 12th at 2pm at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with the Reverend Jeff Burke officiating with burial following at Fairmont Cemetery Expressions of Sympathy can be made in the form of contributions to Finley Baptist Church in Henderson, Ky. Pallbearers: Matthew Allen Hope of Dallas, Texas; Mark Ellis Hope of Cresson, Texas; Denny Ray Mackey, John Mackey, Dale Mackey, Greg Hope.
