Martha Ann Paxton

Martha Ann Paxton, 83, of Henderson, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Redbanks of Henderson. She was born in Pike County, IN on March 20, 1938 to the late Peter and Shirley Cardinal. Martha was a proud RN and worked for Muhlenberg Community Hospital. She received the 1984 Frist Humanitarian Award for Excellence in Nursing and often said, “Nursing is a calling.” She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Henderson and loved UK basketball. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Paxton; siblings, Orville Cardinal, Leon Cardinal, Joseph Cardinal, Bob Cardinal, Mildred Rumble, Vera Cornelius, Elizabeth Helm, and Bill Cardinal. She is survived by her children, Greg Dilley (Cindy) of Lake Stevens, WA, Debra Robertson (Rob) of Ocala, FL, and David Dilley (Deanne) of Raleigh, NC; seven grandchildren, Ryan Williams, Shena Sanders, Andrea Foster, Angela Jennings, Adam Dilley, Andrew Dilley, and Dawson Dilley; siblings, David Cardinal and Katherine Allison. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Rev. Cindy Green officiating. Burial will be at Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam, KY. Visitation will be at the funeral home Monday, January 31 from 10 a.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to KSR and Kentucky Chamber Foundation Western KY Tornado Relief Fund.
