Marvin Jackson Shirkey

Marvin Jackson Shirkey, 78 of Henderson, KY passed away Sunday March 16, 2014 at Methodist Hospital in Henderson. He was born in Henderson, KY on April 13, 1935 to the late Lawrence and Henrietta (Adams) Shirkey. He was retired from Airgas in Henderson with over 30 years of employment. He loved to travel, wood working and working in his yard. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife; Janet (Vincent) Shirkey, a sister and a brother. He is survived by 2 daughters; Kim Torres and husband Al of Memphis, TN Sabrina Jewell of Henderson, KY 4 Grandchildren; Jennifer Mitchell, Samantha Heffington, Corey Jewell and Brenna Jewell. 1 Great grandchild; Eli Blanford 2 brothers; Melvin Shirkey of AL Maurice “Bud” Shirkey of TN Close friend; Sandra Gager of Henderson, KY Nieces and Nephews Services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday March 19, 2014 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Brother Don Berry will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 and Wednesday 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St Anthony’s Hospice.
