Mary Joe Hayes

Mary Joe (Smith) Hayes, 90 of Sebree passed away April 10, 2025, at Redbanks Colonial Terrace in Sebree.

She was born April 27, 1934, in Onton, KY to the late Clate and Effie Mae Smith.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary Joe enjoyed cooking and watching UK basketball. No matter what time you got at her home, she always offered to cook you something…

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H.K. Hayes; two children, Joyce Ann Richmond and Wilbure Joe Hayes.

Mary Joe is survived by her children, Brenda Fister (Stan) of Owensboro, Carolyn Catlin (Tommy) of Sebree, Janet Hayes of Sebree, Rodney Richmond and Keith Hayes both of Onton; two sisters, Esther Springfield and Wilma Smith both of Sebree; 14 grandchildren and 30 great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Sebree.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM-8:00 PM, Friday, April 11 and 8:00 AM until service time Saturday, April 12 at the funeral home.

Bro. David Bumpus will officiate and burial will be in Onton Cemetery.
