Mary Jo (Johnson) Kirkwood

April 18, 1948 — August 28, 2012

Mary Jo Kirkwood, 64, of Madisonville passed away at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville. She was born April 18, 1948, in Mortons Gap to Ernest and Pearl Louise Hamil Johnson. She was a member Slaughters Christian Church and an X-ray technician at Trigg County Hospital. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie Kirkwood. She is survived by two sons, Thomas Kirkwood and his wife, Margaret, of Madisonville and Paul Kirkwood and his wife, Beth, of Hanson; one sister, Faye Faulk and her husband, Larry, of Mortons Gap; three brothers, Bob Johnson and his wife, Cathy, of Denver, Terry Johnson and his wife, Trina, of Madisonville and Steve Johnson and his wife, Phyllis, of Madisonville; one grandchild, Ella Kirkwood of Madisonville; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Reid-Walters Funeral Home in Earlington with Brother Bill Adcock officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, White Plains. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
