Mary Comalee "Dee" Powell

Mary Comalee 'Dee' Powell, 97, Sebree, KY, died February 3 at the Lucy Smith King/St. Anthony's Hospice Care Center, Henderson, KY. Mrs. Powell was the daughter of Waleska and Clarence Melton, Sebree, KY, and the widow of Roger Powell, also of Sebree. Dee graduated from the now defunct, Sebree School, and was an active member and lifelong pianist at Sebree United Methodist Church. Dee was preceded in death by her parents and husband, her infant daughter, Janet, brothers, sisters and in-laws: Herbert Melton, Sebree, Ross Melton (Dorothy), Evansville, IN, Thelma Cox (Raymond), and Tommie Miller, (J.R.), Owensboro, KY. She is survived in death by her loving daughter, Nancy Lee Powell, Sebree, KY. Also survived by nephews and nieces: Jan Welborn, Sturgeon Bay, WI and Palm Beach Gardens, FL., James Miller (Paddy), Mark Miller (Robin), Tim Miller (Mary Dean), of Owensboro, KY; Jane Haase, Louisville, KY, and Mary Dee Denton (Barry) of Henderson, KY. Services will be 11:00 AM Friday February 6, 2015 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Sebree Chapel. Bro. Stan Strader will officiate with Bro. James Schuck assisting. Burial following the service will be at Springdale Cemetary in Sebree, KY. Visitation will be Thursday 4-8PM and Friday 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
