Mary Elizabeth Priest passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at 7:41 pm at her home under the care of St Anthony's Hospice of complications of Alzheimer's disease. She was born to Thomas Wingate Hancock and Maggie Elizabeth Hancock in Uniontown, KY, and moved to Henderson as a young child. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers William Clarence "WC" Hancock and Robert Thomas "Johnny" Hancock. She is a lifelong member of the Henderson First Baptist Church, where she joyfully served in many capacities. She attended Barret Manual Training Center and Lockyears Business College. Mary Elizabeth, an avid synchronized swimmer, swam with a group of women weekly for over thirty years, was instrumental in a program that taught Henderson 3rd Graders how to swim. In August 1995, she opened along with her husband the L&N Bed and Breakfast in downtown Henderson. She enjoyed living and having a small business in downtown Henderson. Mary Elizabeth survived by her husband of 62 years, Norris Odene Priest, two sons Norris Nisbet "Nibby" Priest and Neal Thomas Priest and his wife Lori, and her pride and joy grandchildren River Thomas Priest and Kally Ann Priest. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm Funeral Service time Saturday, April 24, 2021, at Henderson First Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Hinkson and Rev. Alan Chamness officiating. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery in Henderson. Pallbearers will be Russell Ray Sights, Rich Kenyon, Greg A Gibson, Marty Coursey, Robert Hancock, River Priest.
