Melissa Joanne (Carter) Billings

Melissa Joanne (Carter) Billings, 63, of Henderson, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021. She was born in Henderson on December 15, 1957 to the late Virgil H. Sr. and Mary (Givens) Carter. She was a homemaker and retired truck driver who loved to travel. She deeply loved her children and grandchildren and never met a stranger. She had helping hands and open arms, never judged, and gave excellent advice. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Melanie Jane Culver. She is survived by her children, Steven L. Billings Sr. (Mary Theresa), John P. Billings (Shanna), Malcolm L. Billings Jr., William T. Billings, and Melissa M. Billings, all of Henderson; 13 grandchildren; siblings, Carolyn F. Carter LaRue (Newman), Virgil H. Carter Jr. (Lynn), and Carl B. Carter (Cathy), all of Henderson; cousins, nieces, and nephews. Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date. Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson is entrusted with arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
