Melissa Dawn (Coots) Evans

Melissa Dawn Evans, 48, of Henderson KY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on April 15, 2024. Her warrior spirit fought off stage 4 breast cancer for nearly 9 years.

She was born in Henderson Ky. Melissa was the third of four children of Cyril T. Coots Jr. and Mary Helen Coots. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Melissa was preceded in death by her father, Cyril T. Coots Jr and her father-in-law Jackie Earl Evans Sr.

She is survived by her husband Jeffery Earl Dixon Evans of Nebo KY and daughters, Emma Marie Evans and Kassi Dawn Evans, both of Henderson KY; honorary daughter, Caitlin Marie Lewis of Henderson KY; her mother, Mary Helen Coots of Henderson KY; mother-in-law Jessie Marie Evans of Nebo KY; sister Sabrina Murphy (Doug) of Richland MO; sister-in-law Jacqueline Boswell (Tim) of Madisonville KY; brothers Jason Coots (Lisa) of Henderson, KY and Craig Coots (Jenny) of Chandler IN; Jackie Evans Jr. (Gena) of Henderson KY. Along with several aunts and uncles, 25 nieces and nephews, and 19 great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services will be held at Tomblinson Funeral Homes in Henderson KY on Friday April 19, 2024 at 11am. Family friend, Keith Walters will officiate. Burial will be at 2pm at Johnson Island Cemetery in Nebo KY (County Road 1477, Nebo KY).

Visitation will be on Thursday, April 18, 2024, 3pm-7pm and Friday, April 19, 2024 at 9am until service time at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson.
