Merrie Gibson

Merrie H. Gibson, 89, of Henderson, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Redbanks Nursing Home.

She was born in Henderson on March 24, 1934 to the late Maurice D. and Katherine (McMurray) Hall.

Merrie was a retired bookkeeper with Gibson Auto and of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed fishing and hunting and playing golf, bridge, and rook. Merrie loved flowers and was a member of the American Rose Society.

In addition to her parents, Merrie was preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Riley” Gibson; son, Tim Gibson; brother, Jerry Hall; and sister, Sandra Lewis.

She is survived by three children, Gary Wayne Gibson of Henderson, Steven Ray Gibson (Kay) of Waverly, and Merry Ann Sigler (Bruce) of Henderson; brother, Randy Hall of Henderson; six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, February 26 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Bro. Rick O’Daniel officiating.

Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to St. Anthony’s Hospice and Salvation Army.
