Michael “Mike” Gary Moore, age 75, passed away peacefully at his home on August 22, 2025.
Mike was born on February 20, 1950, in Germany, and at just three months old, he moved with his parents to the United States. Soon after, his family grew with the arrival of his sister, Anita, and brother, Richard “Dickie” Moore.
Mike attended Henderson City High School before proudly enlisting in the U.S. Army. He served his country for four years as a Military Police officer during the Vietnam War, stationed in Key West. After his military service, Mike built a lifelong career with Alcan (later Century Aluminum), where he worked for 40 years before retiring.
A man who cherished the simple joys of life, Mike loved fishing and spending time at his campground at Sportsman’s Lake. His happiest moments were those surrounded by family, friends, and the outdoors. He was also a proud member of the American Legion and the Sportsman’s Club, where he found fellowship and community.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse Leon and Gerda Bischoff Moore, and by his first wife, Rebecca “Becky” Timmons.
He is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Lisa Ann Moore, his daughter Robin Fricke (David), his sons Lonnie and Jesse Moore, and his stepdaughter Chelsea Smitson. Mike was a proud “Pepaw” to nine grandchildren, who brought him joy. He will also be remembered by his faithful puppy, Bluey.
Years in Mike’s life were marked by devotion—to his family, his work, his country, and the places and pastimes he loved most. His memory will be carried on through the stories, laughter, and love of those who knew him best.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Tomblinson Funeral Home, Henderson Chapel. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
