Monica Hazelwood

Monica Joyce Hazelwood passed away at 9:25 AM Saturday April 11, 2015 at her residence under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice. She was born to Sam and Hazeal (Edds) Murphy in Mclean County, KY on September 15, 1934. Monica was a member for years at Immanual Baptist Church and attended Community Baptist church in her later years She and her husband owned and operated Monica’s Motel for over 30 years and owned and operated other businesses in Henderson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Donald Lee Hazelwood. Monica is survived by her 3 Children; Daughter Cindy Griffin and her husband Eddie Sons: Aubrey Hazelwood and his wife Julie Byron Hazelwood and his wife Debbie All of Henderson, KY 6 Grandchildren; Cliff Griffin, Craig Griffin, Amber Wood, Josh Hazelwood, Lauren Hazelwood and Kayla Satterfield. 3 Great Grandchildren Sister; Brenda and Tommy Stewart of Tilden, KY Brother; Noah and Viola Murphy of Owensboro, KY Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday April 14, 2015 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Dr. Tim Hobbs will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 until 8:00 and Tuesday 9:00 AM until Service Time at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Anthony’ Hospice, Community Baptist Church or Jerusalem Masonic Lodge #9. Pallbearers will be Cliff Griffin, Craig Griffin, Andrew Wood, Josh Hazelwood, Lauren Hazelwood and Kayla Satterfield. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ralph Folden and Neal Floyd.
