Myron Neel Glunt

Myron Neel Glunt, 93 of Henderson passed away 8:20 AM Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at his residence. He was born August 12, 1921 in Henderson to Benjamin Sylvester and Vella Deen (Sheffer) Glunt. He was a member of Morganfield First Baptist Church and was a 50 year member of the Brick Layers Union Local #1 as a brick mason. Myron has worked for various construction companies. He was a WW II Army Veteran Military Police. He had been a house parent for Chaney House for boys and West Home for girls. He was a member of Campers on Mission for Southern Baptist. Myron attended Finley Baptist Church in his later years. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife Minnie Ruth (Adams) Glunt, 2nd wife Agnes (Culver) Glunt, daughter Dorothea Loreen Jackson, four brothers; Marvin Glunt, Mavis Glunt, Maynard Glunt and Milton Glunt, one sister Maxine Vaughan. He is survived by three children: Emma Dean Whitesides of Henderson Myrona Ruth Duncan (Jim) of Henderson Lee Allen Glunt (Sheila Kay) of Robards One sister: Loreen Glunt of Henderson 14 grandchildren 25 great grandchildren 6 great great grandchildren Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, January 30 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Bro. Mark Galloway and Chaplain Gene Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Worsham Post #40 Burial Detail. Friends may call after 11:00 AM Thursday and after 9:00 AM Friday at the funeral home. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. Pallbearers will be Kirt Jackson, David Whitesides, Keene Jackson, Darren Whitesides, Kent Jackson, Matthew Beard, John Beard, Daniel Whitesides, Nathan Beard and Stuart Mays. Honorary Pallbearers will be Danielle Groves, Alesha Hicks, Lori Hatfield and Ashley Sutton. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice in memory of Myron Glunt.
