Nellie "Buck" Duncan

Nellie “Buck” Elizabeth Duncan, aged 91, a long-time resident of Sebree, KY departed this world on Jan. 21st, 2024. She was a leap year baby, born on Feb. 29th, 1932. Nellie was born and raised in Anthoston, KY. Despite her impaired vision, she lived a happy and fulfilling life from driving a wagon, being on horse-back, or cutting it up on the dance floor. She was an avid lover of all animals. Nellie was of the Christian faith and attended Bellfield Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry “Frank” Thurby and Anna Nunn Thurby; Husband Cletis Duncan; Brother David Thurby; Sisters Darris Eblen and Sue Cooper.

She was the oldest of 15 children and is survived by siblings Tom (Shirley) Thurby of Dixon, KY; Virginia Gibson of Princeton, IN; Henry Thurby of Murray, KY; Corine Johnson, Gary (Barbara) Thurby all of Henderson, KY. Woody (Mary Ann) Thurby of Fenton, MO; Mary Ina Jenkins of Robards, KY; Sharon Cates of Onton, KY; Judy (Donnie) Cates, Bud (Dale) Thurby all of Sebree, KY; Pam (Tommy) Lawless of Hebbardsville, KY. She is survived by her loving children Janice (Dan) Dant of Robards, KY; Barry VanMeter of Oakland City, IN; Michael Duncan of Sebree, KY; Billy (Doris) Duncan Sr. of Robards, KY; Ronnie (Shelia) Duncan, Cletis Duncan, Virgil (Donna) Duncan, Brenda George of Henderson, KY; Raymond Duncan of Union Grove, WI; Debbie Grant of Corydon, KY. Grandchildren Kevin (Laura) Nobles, Sheri (Davie) Nobles Therkildsen, Cory Harper, Andy (Amy) Van Meter, Brandy (Shane) Stafford, Peyton Van Meter, Blayne Van Meter, Jackson Van Meter, Michelle (Chris) Kelley, Michael (Ashlee) Duncan. Great grandchildren: Kelsey Nobles, Dakota and Aries Beasley, Avery and Riley Harper, Morgan and Jon Ice; Kadence, Sadie, Destiny, Ashton, Koen, Karter, Kylie Van Meter. Great-Great grandchildren: Maevelyn, Aiden, Anikan, Brady, Reid, Austin. Several other grandchildren and great-great grandchildren that will go on to forever cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2024, 2:00 PM at Tomblinson Funeral Home, Sebree Chapel with Zach Dant officiating. The burial will follow at Springdale Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024, 4:00-8:00 PM and on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, 10:00 AM until funeral hour.
