Norma Jean Foster, 89 of Newburgh, formerly of Henderson passed away December 22, 2024, at Cypress Grove Rehab Center.
She was born August 5, 1935, in Morganfield, KY to the late John Richard and Cecilia Pearl Smith.
Norma Jean Foster, a cherished member of the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, whose life was a testament to faith, family, and joy.
Norma found great happiness in life’s simple pleasures, including playing bingo and testing her knowledge during trivia games. Norma was especially proud of the five generations of women in her family, a legacy she treasured deeply, herself, her daughter, Kathy, granddaughter, Brittney, great-granddaughter, Kelsey, and great-great-granddaughter, Maisyn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mike Shelton; grandson, Michael Yates; and great granddaughter, Alyssa Stanley Shelton; two stepsons, Robert Foster and Duke Foster.
She is survived by her husband, Cleve Washington Foster, Jr.; four children, Becky Yates (Mark), Kathy Morgan (Richard), Robby Shelton (Penny) and Jimmy Shelton (Charla); two step children, Susan Norman (Clay) and Donna Foster; one brother, Marion Smith; two cousins that were like sisters to her, Sara Wilson and Vicki Girten; 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral mass will be held, 12:00 PM, Friday, December 27, 2024, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Henderson, KY with Father Richard Meredith officiating.
Visitation will be 9:30- 11:30 AM, Friday at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson, KY.
Burial will be in Old Cedar Grove Cemetery in Tilden, KY.
