Norma Sue Payne, 71, of Slaughters passed away Tuesday June 25, 2013 at Lucy Smith King Care Center. She was born in Madisonville to Barkley Champion and Sybil Geneva (Hooks) Towne on July 30, 1941. She was a retired bank teller and member of Slaughters Baptist Church. Sue was as assistant treasurer and choir member at Slaughters Baptist Church and was also involved in Women’s Missionary Union. She was a member of the Young at Heart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Thorpe Payne in 2008 and 1 sister Oweda Ann Qualls. She is survived by 2 sons: Tony Payne of St. Paul, MN Michael Payne of Slaughters 5 Grandchildren: Tyler Payne, Dylan Payne, Benjamin Payne, Drew Payne and Maxwell Herron Payne Several Nieces and Nephews Services will be 3:00 PM Saturday June 29, 2013 at Slaughters Baptist Church. Bro. Andrew Sexton will officiate with Bro. Brad Rogers assisting. Burial will be in Onton Cemetery in Onton, Kentucky. Visitation will be Friday 4-8PM at Tomblinson Funeral Home Slaughters-Hanson Chapel and Saturday 1:30 PM until service time at the church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Gideon’s International.
