Opal K Skaggs

Opal (Robinson) Skaggs, 92, of Henderson passed away Wednesday March 30, 2016 at Redbanks Nursing Home. She was born in Henderson County on January 27, 1924 to Charlie and Eva (Thompson) Robinson. Opal was a homemaker and member of Beals Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, ceramics and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Emmett Skaggs in 2006, son Charlie E. Skaggs, 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Survivors include 3 children: Emmett Leo Skaggs and wife Carol of Virginia Lillie Milligan of Illinois Becky Raley and husband Richard of Henderson 1 Brother: William Mug Robinson of West Virginia 12 Grandchildren 25 Great-grandchildren 17 great-great-grandchildren Several Nieces and Nephews Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday April 2, 2016 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Rev. Barry Skaggs will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Reed, Kentucky. Visitation will be Friday 4-8PM and Saturday 9:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Opals family would like to thank the Harbor Unit staff at Redbanks for the wonderful care and love that was shown to her.Pallbearers will be Tammy Janosa, Kenny Milligan, Josh Raley, Rane Walker, Stephen Milligan, and Nathan Wilkins.Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Beals Pentecostal Church.
