Ophelia Jane Nance

Ophelia Jane (Poole) Nance, 92, of Slaughters, Kentucky passed away Wednesday March 7, 2018 at Redbanks Nursing Home in Henderson. She was born in Poole, Kentucky on November 11, 1925 to the late L. Wayne and Paula Corrine (Pierce) Poole.  She was a homemaker and member of Slaughters Christian Church. Ophelia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Merle Nance in 1992, 1 daughter Jane Elizabeth Nance in 1962, 2 sisters and 1 brother. Survivors include 6 children: June Fields and husband David, Brenda Downing and husband Robert, David Nance and wife Jackie, Paula Asher and husband Richard, Lois Auckett and husband B., Ben Nance and wife Kim, 12 grandchildren, 9 Great-grandchildren, Sister-in-law: Hilda Nance, Several nieces and nephews. Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday March 10, 2018 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson.  Pastor Jim Keegan will officiate.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be Friday 4-8PM and Saturday 10:00 AM until service time.  Pallbearers will be Jacob Nance, James Nance, Leland King, Ryan Hatfield, Wayne Kenney and Zachary Nance.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony’s Hospice.
