Oscar Allen "Skip" Martin Iii

Oscar Allen "Skip" Martin III, 80, of Henderson passed away Monday December 12, 2016 at 7:00 AM at his home. He was born in Evansville on April 1, 1936 to Oscar Allen Martin, Jr. and Dorothy (Utley). He was retired from CSX and was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Elks 206. Skip was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was of the Christian faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-father JD Ford. Survivors include his wife of 56 years Ann S. Martin, 2 daughters Tracy Lee Martin of Lexington, Kentucky, Wendy Martin Wilkerson and husband Brent of Robards, his number one granddaughter Anne-Tyler Wilkerson, number one grandson Connor Wilkerson, 2 sisters Peggy Flynn of San Antonio, Texas, Melinda Pfingston and husband Darrel of Henderson, Uncle Harry "Barney" Utley, special cousin Mary Ann McClure Blackwell, lifelong friend Buddy Hall, a loving family that included cousins, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. Services will be 1:30PM Thursday December 15, 2016 at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson. Rev Rebecca Curry will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery with military rites conducted by the American Legion Worsham Post 40. Visitation will be Thursday 9:30AM until service time at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Anthony's Hospice. Pallbearers will be Connor Wilkerson, Brent Wilkerson, Kent Leslie, Boodle Brown, Joe Ray Gorman, Mike Collins, Mike Gorman, Aaron Meuth. Honorary pallbearers will be James "Buddy" Hall, Barney Utley, Bud Hill and Karen Hill.
