Owen Richard Sanders, 75 of Henderson awoke in the arms of his Savior Thursday September 17, 2015 at 7:20 PM. He was surrounded by his wife and children at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born in Curran, Illinois on January 8, 1940 to James Jefferson and Beulah Sanders and grew up in Smithland, Kentucky. He moved to Henderson, Kentucky and began working at Stockyard Feed and Supply in Evansville, Indiana in 1959, which later became Mid-Western Pet Foods, Inc. He retired in November 2014 after 55 years as a territory salesman. He was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Sunday school teacher and treasurer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 1 brother Oliver Sanders, 1 son Richard Sanders and grandson Christopher Sanders. Survivors include his wife of 48 years Sue Sanders 3 children: James Owen Sanders of Sullivan, Indiana Robert Alan Sanders of Henderson Jennifer Lynn Windhaus of Rockfield, Kentucky Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday September 23, 2015 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Bro. Danny Kennedy will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-8PM and Wednesday 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be James Sanders, Robert Sanders, Brian Windhaus, Jhon Powell, George Tillotson and Alvin Frasier.
