Pastor Freida Alexander

Pastor Freida C. Alexander, 74 of Henderson passed away Saturday October 29, 2022, peacefully in her sleep, at her home.

Freida was born in Marion, Kentucky to the late William and Mary Evelyn (Fox)Crider.

Freida retired from the State of Kentucky after 30 years of service, in 2001, to pursue her second career as a full time Methodist Minister. She was currently the Pastor of Spottsville United Methodist Church “The Church on the Hill”.

She enjoyed sharing God’s word to all people and believed absolutely in the power of prayer. Freida traveled to several countries including Kenya, Uganda, Israel, and Paraguay for mission work. She was active with the Healing Rooms in Owensboro, KY, and various other organizations (to numerous to count) in the communities of Henderson and Owensboro. Freida impacted the lives of everyone she touched. If you knew Freida, you knew she was proudest of her grandchildren. When they were born, she would find a hymn that rhymed with their names and sing it to them as she rocked them to sleep. She enjoyed watching them participate in all their activities from singing in choirs to playing various sports. She was known as “Memaw” and there was no doubt that she loved them best.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hughes A. Alexander and her brother John Earl Crider.

Freida is survived by her children Gerald W. Kinnin Jr. (Stephanie), Adrienne K. Cruse (Andre) and Jennifer K. Benson (Edward); her siblings Judith Rhodes and Howard Crider (Porsha); sister-in-law Shirley Crider and her grandchildren Kaelin Hildreth, Andre Cruse ll, Shelby Kinnin, Zion Cruse, Cooper Beck-Benson, Zavier Cruse, Ava Benson, Paxton Benson, and honorary grandchild Brayden Marks, as well as a host of nieces and nephews, and great friends too numerous to list.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Tomblinson Funeral Home in Henderson with Pastor John Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmont Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM-8:00 PM Tuesday, November 1, 2022, and on Wednesday 10:00 AM until service time.
